T-fal's new high-speed kettle employs 1,750 watts of electric power to bring 1 cup of cold water to a rolling boil in one minute. With the kettle filled to its 7-cup capacity, a full boil is achieved in five minutes. That makes the kettle ideal for instant coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or instant soups. To ensure that the water doesn't boil away if attention is diverted, the kettle shuts off automatically once the water reaches full boil. For convenience, it lifts off its corded power base for cordless pouring, can be set on the power base in any direction, and turns on (or off) with a simple push of a button on the handle. Inside the spout there's a removable and washable antiscale filter that extends the kettle's life. With an exterior of hard, gleaming plastic, the kettle wipes clean easily. It's pleasingly plump, has water-level windows on both sides and a cord wrap underneath, and carries a one-year warranty against defects.

It does what it's supposed to - heat water quickly. Although the red graphic at the top of the dial implies a variable temperature setting, the unit seems to have only two settings: hot water and boiling water. It's nicely designed, and the clear panel lets you confirm what's happening inside.Be aware that it is LOUD. You'll have to shout to be heard over the noise.The dial setting on the front of the unit was deceiving. Turn the dial all the way to the left to get a cup of hot water for diluting previously brewed tea concentrate (tea from a pot with 5-6 bags or a similar quantity of loose leaves). Turn the dial all the way to the right to get boiling water for brewing tea.The instructions were not prepared by a native speaker of English and were not helpful.
The kettle just keeps on working. We're on our second T-Fal Vitesse Electric Kettle. Son #2 decided he wanted a less expensive brand when he went to college, but it stopped working before Christmas break so we replaced it with a T-Fal Vitesse. The first one (a smaller version they no longer make) went to college with our son. It was about six years old at the time and 4 years and many cups of tea later, he's preparing to graduate. We've had our current kettle (this size, slightly different model) for 4 years and it gets heavy daily use - especially in the winter. I wouldn't bother to shop around - you've found the right kettle.
This tea kettle had a promising look and functionality. It would not turn on. Unfortunately, it is of poor quality. After several days it stopped working. I wonder how hard is it to make a working appliance that simply boils water in the 21st century. While the design is well thought of, the manufacture of an appliance is so disappointing.One good thing about this transaction is the Customer Service at Amazon.
Faster than my previous brand. A little loud but fast and hot. A great kettle.
I bought it as a gift for my mother. She loves it says it works fast and she never has a problem with it.
